SANTA MONICA BEACH | As far as beaches goes in the continental United States, this is one of the best. Arguably not as picturesque as Miami’s South Beach (but just as crouded) and definitely no contest to Hawaii (obviously). But this photo by ThePurpleCrayon gives this California beach a magnificent perspective with excellent use of tilt shifting. You won’t see many backpackers here but a great destination on the American West Coast nonetheless.
